Entergy Operating Company Feedback to the Model Users Group (MUG) on updates to the Planning Modeling Manual
June 30, 2022.
In the June 16, 2022 meeting of the Modeling Users Group (MUG), stakeholders were invited to submit feedback on the updates to the Planning Modeling Manual; in response, the Entergy Operating Companies[1] (Entergy) provide the following comments.
This wording in Sections 4.4.4.2, 4.4.4.3, and 4.4.4.4 precludes modeling wind/solar/storage farms which are composed of “trains” that use different types of inverters and other distinguishing features that require modeling them as separate devices. Facilities with this configuration have either proceeded through the DPP queue (for instance, J893) or are currently in the GIA queue (for instance, J1598). These facilities are modeled as multiple generators. These sections should be worded to permit the same flexibility that is permitted in the GIA study process to ensure that the modeling in these processes is aligned.
Also in Section 4.4.4.4, the “Required Energy Storage Output” table has a “*” footnote, but no entries in the table are marked with a “*”.
In Section 4.4.8, the ERAG Master Tie Line Database includes future ties as well as current ties. The final paragraph should state “All existing and future planned tielines modeled in MOD must be linked to the ERAG Master Tie Line Database.”
