WEC Energy Group supports the (re)formation of the Stakeholder Governance Working Group to provide all stakeholders with the ability to opine on stakeholder governance issues.
WPPI Energy supports the proposed Stakeholder Governance Working Group. Such a working group would facilitate broad stakeholder participation in the oversight and enhancement of the MISO stakeholder process.
Given the pace of change and the workload of the typical stakeholder (and MISO) representative, MPPA recommends that Stakeholder Governance Working Group (SGWG) proposals and Stakeholder Governance Guide redlines be published, and formal feedback received and considered, prior to submittal to the Steering Committee. That way stakeholders unable to attend an SGWG meeting could still provide input.
The Environmental Sector supports creating a Stakeholder Governance Working Group. In general, we believe that creating a dedicated working group focused on Stakeholder Governance can be good for MISO, its Stakeholders, and the customers who ultimately stand to benefit from MISO’s actions, if done correctly and transparently. There is a risk, however, that such a Working Group could be a means to move changes forward in a manner that does not broadcast potential issues and proposals as broadly as is done today. Thus, a dedicated working group can lead to more robust discussion regarding Stakeholder Governance matters if managed well, but it could also be problematic if not. In this regard, we encourage MISO to undertake a stakeholder survey at the end of the year to ensure this group is serving a positive purpose. Finally, we would like to ask if the temporary structure of a Task Force might be more appropriate for a trial period of this group to ensure it is achieving its intended purpose before it is formalized.
