Operator Interface

MISO Communication System moved to a new, technologically advanced Operator Interface application as a part of a multi-year, four-phase upgrade. The new interface provides flexibility in receiving declarations and message notifications by different modalities. It provides operators and stakeholders better communications and reliability, supporting declarations and improving situational awareness between MISO and its members.

The Operator Interface provides visual enhancements within the instructional aspects of the declaration and navigation to complete required tasks within the application.

·        The Generator Start/Stop Tool in the MCS, the backup means of resource start/stop notifications, will remain in MCS. The primary means of resource start/stop notifications continue to be via the MUI 2.0.

·        MISO Control Room Operators and the Independent Market Monitor will continue to use the MCS for Operator Logging.

·        The actions necessary for Load Balancing Authorities MCS users will continue to occur in the MCS for Firm Load Shed and Load Management Measures. These tools will transition into the Operator Interface in a later phase.
