CARMEL, Ind. — MISO members have elected three directors to serve three-year terms on to the board beginning Jan. 1, 2024. Directors Robert Lurie and Theresa Wise were re-elected to their second and third terms, respectively while Jeff Lemmer was elected to his first term. Director Jody Davids will complete her term on December 31, 2023.
“We are excited to welcome Director Lemmer to the board and look forward to continuing our work with Directors Lurie and Wise,” said MISO Board Chair Todd Raba. “On behalf of the entire MISO Board, I would like to extend our appreciation to Director Davids and wish her continued success in the future."
MISO’s board consists of nine independent directors and the CEO. The mission of the board is to foster the long-term success and corporate sustainability of the organization.
“Directors Lurie and Wise have proven to be instrumental in our continued success, and Director Lemmer brings a new perspective that will aid in our work to solve complex grid challenges,” said MISO’s CEO John Bear. “Our board represents a diverse group of leaders within and adjacent to the electric power industry which provides us with a broad cross-section of experience.”
Robert Lurie chairs the Audit & Finance committee and serves on the Markets, Corporate Governance & Strategic Planning and Technology committees. He was the executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief strategy officer of the New York Power Authority from 2012 to 2019. Lurie served as the Chief of Strategic Planning at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 2003-2007 and was treasurer and vice president of strategic planning for a utility company in New Jersey.
Theresa Wise chairs the Technology committee and serves on the Corporate Governance & Strategic Planning and System Planning committees. She previously served as chief information officer and senior vice president of Delta Air Lines from 2008-2016 and Northwest Airlines from 2001-2008. Wise currently serves on the board of directors of Impinj, Viasat, Inc and Acropolis Infrastructure Corp.
Jeff Lemmer’s term will begin January 1, 2024. He retired in 2020 from the Ford Motor Company, where he was Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this role, he steered a global technology division composed of nearly 8,000 IT professionals and managed an annual budget of $2B. His responsibilities included overseeing IT services for Ford's global operations, including business applications, architecture, data centers, engineering, and enterprise and vehicle cyber security.
