It’s always been close to our hearts at MISO to create a work environment that goes beyond mere inclusivity, one that truly listens and adapts to the distinct needs of our employees. It was this very sentiment that gave birth to Caregiving Connections during the challenges of the pandemic. What began as a ray of hope for our employees, many of whom were navigating the tightrope between their professional roles and caregiving duties, has now flourished into a community where stories, struggles and triumphs are shared and celebrated.
"Being a part of Caregiving Connections has had a profound impact on me. The heart, the dedication, the sheer compassion resonating in every conversation and support of our colleagues reminds us that at its core, this group represents a family of caring souls that are there for each other.” Zak Joundi, executive sponsor of Caregiving Connections, warmly shared.
Recently, we took a significant step in our journey. We marked the official launch of Caregiving Connections as an employee resource group with a memorable event with guest speaker Tricia Sandiego, senior advisor for caregiving and health at AARP, who graced us with her wisdom. Alongside her, our enthusiastic Caregiving Connections leadership team was introduced,as well as their shared vision for the road ahead. The event, enriched by engaging dialogues and warm camaraderie, was the first of many in a series tailored to the unique challenges and joys of our caregiver community.
Looking ahead, Caregiving Connections is the embodiment of MISO’s heartfelt vision of inclusivity. The success of our launch event is a testament to the genuine excitement and commitment of our community. So, here's to the tapestry of stories and experiences that we will weave together at MISO as we build bridges of understanding, warmth and empowerment.
